7/8/2023 0 Comments The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the G... by Piero KarasuIt's a Utena-Anthy dynamic we're not at all unfamiliar with but what works works.Įuphy learns to express her feelings and support Anis out of her own free will, while Anis grows fond of the found companionship she never had beforĮ. They have a fate encounter in chapter 1 after which a lot of the manga is focused on developing their relationship which is very very precious. nevertheless, the cute FLs were enough to carry the story and keep me interested.Įuphy is a perfect sheltered lady who has spent her life accomodating stupid nobles, an polar opposite of Anis who is a unhinged magic freak who has only been doing whatever shennanigans she wants. Stronk quirky mc, crisp artstyle, the plot is well-paced, there are almost no stakes, and the vibes are of a nice casual sol. And if you like yuri, isekai, and otome like me I think there's a high chance you will too.Īs a fluffy magic isekai, if you've read Mushuku Tensei, or the shouta magic geek one, you know what to expect. Nothing stands out particularly but what can I say, I loved this manga and I had a great time. The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess is a feel good isekai about an iNteReStiNg royalty who loves magic. I have passion for books! Thank you so much for ordering from Sabra Books. The heroes of many of those 1980s books just took what they wanted, and didn’t spend much time agonizing about wrong and right. Understand, I came to historical romance in the 1980s via the American single title blockbuster books, at a time when they were quite different from today’s romances. And sometimes even your main characters belonged to minority groups. Your side characters could be Jewish, Roma, or gay, yet never the villains in the story. And your characters actually had spiritual lives, often in conflict with a troubled conscience. If the characters made mistakes or committed wrongs, your books actually examined the of the characters’ motives for doing so in some depth. They came along at a time when I had not read anything like them. I was a big fan of your books in the 1990s. Stripped of her wings, she is now a fallen angel and working for Azagoth in Sheoul – cleaning his house no less. He has popped up in a number of books throughout the series, and I was thrilled when we found out he was getting his own story.Ĭataclysm (Cat) was an angel, but unwittingly joined Team Bad during all that went down in the last couple of books in the series. I absolutely adore Hades – perennially shirtless, blue-mohawked, sarcastic and arrogant keeper of souls and jailer of the Underworld. As a mad fan of all things Demonica, I have been so excited for this novella. I’m well-versed in the overwhelming anxiety that the internet can induce, but the experience of blankness, or pure boredom, is something I can only identify with in the abstract. A temporary digital cleanse – extolled in endless articles and books – feels useless when most jobs and services require almost constant connectivity. I should be horrified that corporations have accrued so much personal data about me that I’m compelled to click on their eerily tailored ads on Instagram, but they’ve become so banal all I feel is indifference. I use Apple’s Screen Time to curtail my use, only to break the self-imposed limit every day, which fills me with guilt, like I’m a toddler with no impulse control. Jenny Odell makes a convincing case for moving beyond the ruthless logic of useĪs someone who has spent the majority of my life attached to technology, I have developed an unhealthy dependency upon my phone, and all attempts to wean myself off it have been fruitless. 7/6/2023 0 Comments If you come softlyHowever, the only thing that matters to other people is, unfortunately, to keep them apart. The only thing that matters to them is to be together. They live in two very different worlds, but this doesn’t matter to them at all. If You Come Softly is a book that deals in a beautiful and meaningful way with first loves, the prejudices that often hold us apart, and a host of other social issues that concern us to this day, regardless of which part of the world we live in. At the end of the month, the group of people who have read the book (or at least half of it) will be meeting to exchange thoughts, impressions, feelings and concerns, triggered by what we have just read, whether we liked it a lot or not so much. us.ĭon’t worry if you haven’t read the entire book, or if you didn’t join our previous meeting: either way, Stella will be giving the cue each month, announcing the book that we will all be reading together over the weeks to follow.
